Russian troops storm Mariupol’s Azovstal plant, Ukraine says

LVIV, Ukraine, April 21 (Reuters) – Russian forces stormed the Azovstal steel plant in the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol on Thursday after weeks of bombardment, raising fears for hundreds of civilians sheltering in the vast underground complex and dashing hopes of an immediate Easter truce..

Ukrainian officials said the Russians had broken into the plant, the last stronghold of Ukrainian fighters in the southern port city, and street battles were underway..
