With her latest look, Ana de Armas is giving Marilyn Monroe a run for her money. The 34-year-old arrived at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton hotel in custom Louis Vuitton. Styled by Samantha McMillen, the structured black gown’s design centered on a column of silver studs arranged in a geometric pattern.
Like the Hollywood starlet she portrayed in her 2022 film Blonde, de Armas kept her glam classic with a sleek blowout and a juicy red-pink lip.
While promoting Blonde at the Venice Film Festival last year, de Armas paid subtle homage to Monroe, wearing short shorts reminiscent of pinup style often worn by Hollywood’s most famous blonde. At the premiere de Armas wore a halter gown similar to Monroe’s iconic white number from The Seven Year Itch, though de Armas’s was a warm pink rather than white.
Ana de Armas is nominated for her performance as Monroe in the star’s 2022 biopic, based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. Among de Armas’s fellow nominees for best actress in a motion picture, drama, are Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans), Viola Davis (The Woman King), Olivia Colman (Empire of Light), and Cate Blanchett (Tár).
