After fashion’s biggest night of the year, even Emily Ratajkowski needs a style come-down. And what better way to reset than with a simple monochromatic outfit?
Ratajkowski was photographed in NYC on Thursday, May 5, attending Variety‘s Power of Women event alongside a who’s who of famous (and, notably, powerful) actors and entertainment industry execs.
The model and author opted for a head-to-toe black ensemble for the occasion, including a slinky turtleneck tank in a diamond knit pattern that gave the look of an oversize fishnet stocking. She layered the see-through top over a black bra and black trousers with a split hem.
Ratajkowski kept her glam low-key and ’90s-inspired, sweeping her hair into a bun and wearing a subtle, muted pink lip color with a matte finish. Also in line with the ’90s vibes were her peep-toe pumps, which peeked out beneath the floor-skimming hem of her pants. There’s something about the simple silhouette that calls to mind Posh Spice (a.k.a. Victoria Beckham)…though it could just be the all-black thing she’s got going on.
Earlier this week Ratajkowski attended the Met Gala in a beaded halter and scarf skirt ensemble by Versace that was decidedly more complex. Her look at Variety‘s party is pretty much a 180.
It must be said: Emily Ratajkowski has the range.
