On September 30, the “Welcome to New York” singer was photographed attending the seven-year-old’s birthday party wearing an oversized navy sweater over a pleated plaid miniskirt in blue, white, and gold. While the preppy look—complete with a coordinated navy manicure and loose blonde waves—falls perfectly into the academic aesthetic Swift has been favoring this autumn, her black leather combat boots gave the ensemble a bit of a Reputation spin. For fans of the singer, this will likely be seen as another hint that her sixth studio album will be the next rerecording after 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is released on October 27. If true, her self-titled debut album will be saved for last.
But let’s not get distracted. Swift was photographed leaving the party’s Tribeca location alongside her sartorial opposite Blake Lively. The mother of four wore a funky red and white ensemble: a geometric print midi-skirt, a white crop top, and a cropped jacket in red, white, and pink. While Taylor Swift wasn’t the only famous face at Inez’s party—Emily Blunt and Bradley Cooper were also seen leaving the establishment with their respective kids in tow—she has a particularly significant connection to the Reynolds-Lively clan. Famously, the singer name-checked Lively’s three eldest daughters in the Folklore song “Betty” back in 2020.
“We trust her implicitly,” Ryan Reynolds said in a 2021 interview with SiriusXM, calling Swift’s decision “pretty damn amazing.” The Gossip Girl alum and the Deadpool star revealed they welcomed their fourth daughter in February 2023 but have yet to share the baby’s name. Perhaps they’re waiting for Taylor Swift to do the honors.
