For more than half of her life, actor Iris Apatow has appeared on the big and small screen. Her first gig was at only five years old in Knocked Up, and she most recently starred in the pandemic-set comedy The Bubble. While the 21-year-old comes from a showbiz family—mom Leslie Mann and sister Maude Apatow are also actors, while dad Judd Apatow is a director—she’s also known for her immaculate taste: Apatow’s retro LA apartment was featured in Architectural Digest. She’s besties (and has matching finger tattoos) with fellow Gen Z It girls like Olivia Rodrigo, Avani Gregg, and Charli D’Amelio. She made a splash in sequins at the 2023 .
When she’s not acting, Apatow has a love for fashion. Day-to-day, she says she keeps her style simple and sustainable. “I try to wear items that will outlive me and pieces that I can give to my kids,” Apatow tells Glamour. “I focus on minimizing how much I wear by trying to find important and great clothing. I love florals and I have thousands of milkmaid dresses. That’ll be a constant in my wardrobe forever.” (Her style icon? Kindergarten teachers. “They have very inviting auras,” she explains.)
Below, we caught up with Iris Apatow at Aerie’s recent takeover of the TWA Hotel in New York to find out her favorite sweaters and sweatpants for cozy nights in, the winter trends she’s buying into, her go-to face wash, and the cold-weather footwear she has in rotation this season.
The winter trend I’m most excited for
Cozy pieces. I really like the Aerie Bundle Up sweater. I love adding colorful tights and leg warmers as accessories. Big knit hats too. Even when my hair looks bad, I can wear a hat.
My favorite winter shoes
I’m really into Frye boots, but I also really like loafers—great for the winter. I’m converting into the loafer-boot world.
My skin care holy grail
I’m a big fan of Avène products. It’s my favorite skin care. I have horrible hormonal acne, and if you ever struggle with acne, [Avène] is the best thing ever. My gosh. I highly recommend the foaming cleanser. That’s what cleared my acne.
My go-to hair product
Paul Mitchell smoothing cream.
The comfy pants I take everywhere
I really like the Aerie skater pants, and the crossover leggings are really great too. The cross at the waistband makes it very flattering. They make me look really good, which I like because sometimes leggings can be hit-or-miss.
The beauty product I can’t live without
I have always loved Benefit Cosmetics. I’ve used Benetint on my cheeks since I was very little. It’s the best blush. If you don’t know what to get, just start with that. You can try other ones, but you’ll always go back to Benetint.
