You’ve heard of the going-out top. Now get ready for the going-out dress, as seen here on Kendall Jenner at the grand opening of the FWRD pop-up store in West Hollywood.
Kendall Jenner’s going-out dress is a real classic of the genre. The one-shoulder dress has a metallic fabric that looks cream-colored in some pics and almost silvery in others. It is skintight, with ruching at the bodice and a body-con miniskirt. It’s giving mid-2000s Kim Kardashian in a good way.
Jenner stuck to a neutral color palette with transparent sandals and a cream-colored shoulder bag, the better to contrast with her black mani-pedi and dark hair, which she wore in a slick ponytail (perfect for getting sweaty on the dance floor at the club).
In addition to modeling for FWRD ad campaigns (see: the one-shoulder red bikini she posted to IG on June 6), Jenner is also the FWRD creative director—making this pop-up a big moment for her. In a 2022 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she said, “I grew up loving fashion and have been incredibly fortunate to work with some of the most brilliant people in this business. As FWRD’s creative director, I love helping curate the site’s offering with emerging designers and brands.”
Perhaps bringing back a classing going-out dress is part of Kendall Jenner’s grand vision for the future of fashion. It looks great on her, at least.
